According to Jim "Pistol Pete" Petersen, James Cooksey Earp died in this house at 9:45 PM on January 25, 1926. Pistol Pete is the one with the bad back sitting on the front porch. Image courtesy Petersen Collection. (Are those two stone porch supports mining claim/territorial markers?)

James Earp's address was removed from the PERMIT FOR REMOVAL AND BURIAL to prevent vultures from picking on the house. Removal Permit courtesy Petersen Collection.
